Evidence for hierarchical black hole mergers in the second LIGO - Virgo gravitational-wave catalog

We analyze the 44 binary black hole mergers identified in GWTC-2 using a population model which consistently models the mass and spin distribution for a range of cluster masses. We find significant evidence for hierarchical mergers for cluster escape velocities > 100 km/s.
